Yavapai County Sheriff
Auxiliary Force

For those who don´t know us, we are the Yavapai Sheriff Auxiliary Force, under the direction of the Yavapai County Sheriff´s Office. Included are the Volunteers in Protection, Yavapai County Jeep Posse, Verde Search & Rescue, and the Yavapai County Search & Rescue Team.

Our Mission

These all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations assist the Sheriff´s Office searching for lost, stranded, or injured persons anywhere in the county, including cities. Our members are often first on the scene. Last year alone our volunteers responded to over 150 search and rescue missions, and hundreds of deputy assists.

Did you know?

No one is ever charged for a search by us or the Sheriff´s Office.

We don´t want anyone to hesitate to call 911 for help because of a concern about cost. We respond to help you day or night, in any weather conditions. Please help us continue these vital services by making a donation. And, hey, WE´D be lost without you!

The cost to obtain and maintain safety equipment, communications systems, and training comes from the volunteers themselves, and tax-deductible donations like yours.

The following are just a few examples of what our volunteers train for, providing 24/7 service when you need them:

  • Large-scale searches for children & the elderly
  • Short-haul helicopter rescues
  • Technical rope & swift-water rescues
  • Fire & other disaster evacuations
  • K9 area, trailing, and HRD searches
  • Patrolling local communities
  • Vacation home security checks
  • Wildfire observation & reporting

Other services our volunteers provide include:

  • Cold case investigations
  • Community safety events
  • Hug-A-Tree Lost Child Prevention Program
  • Administrative services
  • Fingerprint services
  • Citizen or motorist assists

Every Tax-Deductible donation counts. Please help us, so we can help you stay safe.

Help us continue our work

We last asked for your aid in 2019 to help offset the out-of-pocket expenses of over 350 volunteers who work daily to help keep you safe where you live and in the wilderness areas of Yavapai County.

To those who were able to make a contribution, THANK YOU!
